Less than an hour’s drive to Denver, Bailey is where you go when you want to get away from it all. Bailey’s mountain location makes it perfect to take advantage of nearby camping, fishing, hiking and biking trails and scenic drives. And it’s located along the North Fork of the South Platte River, making it incredibly picturesque.

Fun events

Every summer, the town hosts Bailey Day, an Old West-themed festival that draws big crowds with its live music, family activities, arts and crafts and tons of food options. But everyone’s favorite is the Old West reenactments with blazing pistols and shady villains. The town’s other big event is the Bailey HUNDO, an intense 100-kilometer mountain bike race that starts and ends in Bailey each summer. The event raises money to keep up bike trails throughout the state of Colorado.

Quirky little town

To understand the quirkier side of Bailey, don’t miss the Sasquatch Outpost, a museum dedicated to all things Bigfoot, and the Treehouse Adventure Park that is part ropes course, part Swiss Family Robinson. Bailey is located close to both the Colorado Trail and the Deer Creek Trail, as well as many more, and is just a short drive to Staunton State Park.
